Governor of Delta state Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and Wife Edith Okowa tested positive to COVID-19 on Wednesday 24th June, 2020. This was confirmed after series of test were conducted on both of them immediately after one of their daughters tested positive to the Virus.
The Governor announced this on his various social media platform informing others about the reality of the pandemic. He said
“My wife and I have tested positive it COVID-19. We are well and continuing isolation/medication. We thank you all for your continued prayers for us and our daughter”.
A press statement also from the chief press Secretary to the Governor Mr. Olisa Ifeayika, confirmed that Governor and his wife are undergoing and responding to treatment as their health condition is stable.
